Power Horse support the joint forces of Volunteers in Qatar to offer construction workers some relief from the sun by providing them with refreshments and equipment to help them cope with the extreme weather conditions.
A Heat Wave Awareness Campaign was organized by Qatar Red Crescent Society with the help of the members of Iloveqatar.net and Qatar Living Volunteer Group (QLVG) to distribute bottles of water and Juices to help the laborers fight against heat stroke. Without a doubt, Laborers in contsruction areas are the most affected by the oppressive heat of this summer season and we have to make them smile through the simple way of giving them a bottle of juices and a can of Power Horse.
The campaign will run over three Saturdays, July 24 and August 1 and 7, and the meeting place for the operation will be the QRC building near the Movenpick hotel on Museum Street at 7.30am.
Power Horse donated hundred cans of energy drinks, and a 100 pieces of waist bag. The company are willing to support the other charity works of Qatar Red Crescent. Power Horse representative have been a part of the first part of the campaign. They visited the areas where laborers are located and they were able to saw the happy faces of laborers while receiving their can of energy drinks. They also experienced the hot weather that the laborers are fighting each day of their works.
According to the leaders of the Joint volunteer group, with the nick of Speed ““Before giving the labourers anything you can see how difficult it is for them – they are sweating so much and obviously finding it hard in the heat,but after giving them something cool, you can see them really change. It has really made a difference and made a big impact on the labourers – it makes them realise that there are some people here who really care for them,”
