Doha zoo is one of the very few Qatar attractions that have been designed, to hold the attention of children.The inhabitants of the zoo include giraffes, elephants, baboons, zebras and many more animals but the main highlight of the Doha Zoo, Qatar is Oryx which now an endangered animal and faces threat of being extinct. Oryx is also the national animal of Qatar. The Doha Zoo, Qatar also houses a mini amusement park which is an ideal place for family picnics.
Location:
Doha Zoo is located between Industrial Zone Roundabout (Al Qalaa) and Al Manasir Roundabout which is approximately (10) km away from Doha city. Its total surface is of (120 000 ) square meters: approximately (42) Hectares in addition to the farms, and (70) Hectares for the rest of ground, in addition to a (10 000) square meters for car parks surface.

The opening of the zoo took place under the sponsorship of his Highness, the Emir and the vice president on (22/2/1984)
