Citizens and residents of Qatar may apply for a Health Card to access services at any of the Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) government-run health care facilities or hospitals.
The card is the same size as the Driving License. It contains the ID number, nationality, photo and date of expiration.
Consultations or non-emergency treatments may cost extra but will be subsidized for those who hold a valid Health Card. Any patient not holding a Health Card will be charged as a visitor.
Health Card holders may also fill out prescriptions at a government-run pharmacy at subsidized rates.
To obtain your Health Card, visit a Health Card Office at any HMC clinic or at the Rumailah Hospital to complete the necessary forms. Please bring the following:
Qataris: Copies of your passport or ID, a photograph (4cmX3cm) and a fee of QR50.
Residents: Copies of your passport and visa or ID, two photographs (4cmX3cm) and a fee of QR100.
Children: valid birth certificate and vaccination card.
Cards can be renewed online on the Hukoomi Government Website or at a Qatar post office. Cards should be received two to three weeks after the application is filed.
