Dorna boss praises QMMF’s al-Attiyah – Gulf Times

The CEO of Dorna Sports, the commercial rights-holders of MotoGP, has credited Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation chief Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah for bringing about a motorsport revolution in Qatar.Carmelo Ezpeleta told a press conference yesterday that it was because of al-Attiyah’s efforts that Qatar is now on the prestigious MotoGP circuit.“Nasser’s contribution to the development of motorsports in Qatar, especially motorcycling, has been tremendous. He has been the driving force behind the Losail International Circuit and the slew of events it hosts every year,” Ezpeleta said.Qatar hosted its first MotoGP race in 2004 and since then the event has grown in stature every year.
